amorphous solid.
amorphous /əˈmôrfəs/
adjective
without a clearly defined shape or form
This series of works features an exploration into the abstract, specifically
finding ways to challenge and push the boundaries of traditional 3D forms. Each design displays warped proportions either portraying a more whimsical or industrial appearance. The use of a translucent glass material is used to highlight the delicacy of the form and serve as a juxtaposition between fluidity, conveyed through the form’s curves, and solidness, conveyed through the glass.
The process for the creation of each piece consisted of a rough conceptualization in photoshop. This was then followed by converting the form into a 3D form in Blender, and applying 3D modeling techniques to warp the shape into the desired form. The glass material was then applied, along with appropriate lighting design.
